Is this authentic Korean food? No, this is located in the District of Columbia. Would I give this a four star if it were in Annandale or some place where I could get real Korean food? Oh hell no. Then why, pray tell am I giving it a four star? Because the service is usually quite attentive and efficient, the sojutinis here are great and very affordable during happy hour, and it's one of the best places in town to get anything remotely resembling Korean food. I do wish they'd up the spice level and potency of the kimchi and similar pickled products. The dolsot bibimbap (a rice topped with veggies and your choice of protein in a hot stone bowl) is solid. Fresh ingredients, the rice crisps up on the bottom as it should, the pork is good, and they do give you the actual red pepper Korean paste to add flavor to the dish. I get it every time. Their other soups and noodles and rices are a bit bland and could be improved. The fried zucchini appetizer and dumplings are quite good. The banchan (complimentary selection of tiny appetizers like kimchi, sliced fish cake, broccoli) are decent, though more on the unspicy side for my taste. I've been here probably upwards of 25 times over the years and it always hits the spot. It's consistent. And with the bibimbap, I'm always content. The locations seem to be the same, though the K street location is a little fancier and newer than the old Dupont location. The brunch options here are quite good too, if you want a bit of Korean inspired food and also have standard brunch fare.

Came during the week for lunch. Was very close to my hotel. I didn't even bother looking at the menu. The hotel clerk literally said Korean and I was sold. They do have a lunch special with a beer but I opted out. Instead has some fried pork dumplings. They have a couple different fillings and they can steam or fry them. Fried is the best with the texture and flavor. You know you can spare a few calories. Hell go outside and shiver for awhile so you don't feel guilty about the friend dumplings. They have a couple different types of bim bop. Went with Galbi in mine. Definitely worth it. It also comes with some sides: bean sprouts, kimchee, steamed potato and brocoli. Overall I loved it. Wish I could have eaten more or wen with a group. The venue is nice and split into two levels. Downstairs has some great window seating options. Upstairs is better for large groups. Also the restroom us upstairs it's clean but just a weird layout. If you're down for Korean you should come. Just get there early before 3pm weekdays for lunch.

Saturday brunch was so amazing I tried to trick my friends into going back on Sunday (no dice). Mandu is on 18th street with a nice-sized dining room and some outdoor seating. It was not very full and service was fast and friendly. Two companions ordered the Bibam Bap and I had the brunch plate. The brunch plate was the perfect amount of food and the mochi at the end really hit the spot. I didn't love the eggs I had but cleaned everything else off my plate. Also liked the small bites you are provided with - delicious kimchi and nothing overpowering. I can imagine it filling up easily, but really not busy for a Saturday brunch at noon. Definitely recommend and will be back!

We came here on a Saturday while visiting the Capitol to try their popular Korean brunch platter, the platter is their Korean take on steak and eggs, and it includes seaweeds and rice rolls called Gim Bap, Korean Omelet, chives, Zucchini pancakes, hash brown served of course with a beef Korean BBQ. We ordered Sojutinis while we waited for our brunch platter to come out from the kitchen, they also served Korean relishes to nibble on. Our brunch platter was served warm and freshly made, It was delicious and did not disappoint. This place is probably my favorite brunch joint in the Capitol. The customer service was commendable and one can dine al fresco on a nicer weather.

This is a great find. The service was really good, from everyone. It was unique experience that multiple people checked on me and made sure I was doing good. It's the small things for me, just like making sure I have water, especially today. The mango sojunitis was really good. The Korean Black Bean Sauce Noodles with seafood (Jajangmyeon), was delicious. Just a short walk from the Dupont Circle stop.
